James Kilgore

Dr. James E. Kilgore is an author, a consultant, a minister and a therapist. Married to his college sweetheart, Ruth, for more than 53 years, he is the father of three children, four grandchildren, and a great grandson.

He is the founder of the International Family Foundation, Inc. and has maintained a practice of marriage and family therapy for over 45 years.  A Fellow and life member of the American Association of Marital and Family Therapy, he founded the Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapists in 1972.  Gov. George Busbee appointed him and he was elected the first Chairman of the Georgia Marriage and Family Counseling Licensing Board.

He is the author of twelve books including Being a Man in a Woman’s World, Dr. Kilgore’s Feel Good Parenting Book, Letters on Life and Love, The Family Touch, and Try Marriage Before Divorce.  He has written for professional journals as well as local and national magazines.

Dr. and Mrs. Kilgore founded the Lake Arrowhead Chapel and served more than 24 years in that community before becoming Ministers Emeriti in 2009.  He has spoken and traveled in the entire United States and in numerous foreign countries.
